Greece enjoys all four seasons, with warm summers and dry, mild winters. Spring and autumn are pleasant, with bright sunshine and occasional rainfall. Summer temperatures average around 33°C, whereas winters average 10°C.
 

WHAT TO PACK

 
Light clothing is appropriate, with a sweater or jacket for evenings. Sports shoes are suitable for light touring, and hiking boots are recommended for treks. Legs, shoulders and upper arms need to be covered when visiting places of worship.
 

LANGUAGE & CURRENCY

 
The official language of Greece is Greek, and English is widely spoken throughout the country. The euro is Greece’s unit of currency.

Greece is on Eastern European Time ( EET ), two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time ( GMT ) Electricity is 220 volts at 50 cycles per second.

Please check with your nearest Greek embassy or consulate prior to travel. No visas are required for citizens of European Union countries, Canada, Australia, Japan and the US. Visas are required for all other nationalities.
